George Whitehead and Gurswin Wehr were both nominated for the prestigious Carling Currie Cup Premier Division Player of the Year Award, underlining their outstanding contributions to our campaign this season.

Speed, instinct and the ability to turn nothing into something — Cameron Hufke brings all of that and more to the Suzuki Griquas backline. Operating at fullback, Hufke has developed into one of the most exciting attacking threats in PouBlou, capable of changing a game in a single moment.

Whether counter-attacking from deep or finishing in space, he plays with confidence, precision and pace that keeps defenders guessing.

If there’s one thing every championship team needs, it’s raw power up front — the kind that shifts scrums, dents defensive lines and sets the tone for 80 minutes. For the Suzuki Griquas, one of the newest sources of that power comes in the form of Ebune Moango Ngundue, affectionately known as “Mango” or “Baby Rhino.”

A prop with huge potential and even bigger heart, Ngundue arrives in Kimberley ready to take his opportunity and make his mark in Peacock Blue.

Griquas & Stormers: A Growing Rugby Partnership

The Suzuki Griquas’ development partnership with the DHL Stormers continues to deliver meaningful opportunities for player growth, with the latest example being Dylan Maart’s loan move to the Stormers for the United Rugby Championship (URC).

The partnership, which focuses on player and staff development, creates a structured pathway between Currie Cup rugby and the URC. It allows Griquas players who have proven themselves at domestic level the chance to test their skills in one of the toughest club competitions in world rugby, while ensuring both unions benefit from shared depth and experience.
