Playing away from home, Griquas delivered another composed and clinical performance, building on their dominant Round 1 display to secure a second consecutive bonus-point win.
Griquas started the match with intent, applying early pressure through structured forward play and disciplined execution at the breakdown. The early phases allowed us to settle into our rhythm, gradually turning territory into points.
By halftime, Griquas had established a solid 21–10 lead, laying the foundation for a strong second-half performance.
The second half saw Griquas raise the intensity, with improved tempo and clinical finishing stretching the Valke defence. Quick ball and effective decision-making created space out wide, allowing the visitors to capitalise and pull away on the scoreboard.
Defensively, we remained organised and disciplined, limiting the Valke to just one additional score after the break while continuing to build on our points difference.
The result reflects another strong all-round team performance, with both forwards and backs contributing to a well-balanced display. The ability to control the tempo of the match and execute under pressure once again proved key.
Back-to-back victories see Griquas firmly positioned among the early pace-setters in the competition, maintaining momentum as the SA Cup campaign gathers pace.
With two bonus-point wins from our opening fixtures, we continue to strengthen our position in the race for a top-four finish and qualification for the Carling Currie Cup Premier Division later this year.
