Meet the Team

Meet the team: Ebune “Mango / Baby Rhino” Ngundue – Power, Potential and Heart in the Front Row

If there’s one thing every championship team needs, it’s raw power up front — the kind that shifts scrums, dents defensive lines and sets the tone for 80 minutes. For the Suzuki Griquas, one of the newest sources of that power comes in the form of Ebune Moango Ngundue, affectionately known as “Mango” or “Baby Rhino.”

A prop with huge potential and even bigger heart, Ngundue arrives in Kimberley ready to take his opportunity and make his mark in Peacock Blue.

Griquas & Stormers: A Growing Rugby Partnership

The Suzuki Griquas’ development partnership with the DHL Stormers continues to deliver meaningful opportunities for player growth, with the latest example being Dylan Maart’s loan move to the Stormers for the United Rugby Championship (URC).

The partnership, which focuses on player and staff development, creates a structured pathway between Currie Cup rugby and the URC. It allows Griquas players who have proven themselves at domestic level the chance to test their skills in one of the toughest club competitions in world rugby, while ensuring both unions benefit from shared depth and experience.

Meet the Team

Meet the team: Eddie Davids – A Cornerstone of the Griquas Front Row

Every successful rugby team is built on a solid foundation, and for the Suzuki Griquas that foundation starts up front. At loosehead prop, Edward “Eddie” Davids has become a dependable presence — a player who brings strength, stability and consistency to the set-piece and the tight exchanges where matches are often won.

A hardworking front-rower with a calm demeanour, Davids has quietly grown into an important part of the Griquas forward pack.
